Founded in 1988, ALPS was the first multi-state bar endorsed lawyers’ professional liability carrier with our original core states being Montana, West Virginia, South Dakota and Kansas. ALPS continues to be endorsed by or affiliated with more state bar associations than any other insurance company. Because of our close relationship with bar associations, particularly with our rural state foundation, we’ve gained a unique insight into how different states are tackling this problem.

Additionally, ALPS has worked with many firms over the years to assist with succession planning efforts, from one-on-one advising to producing CLE on the subject. We have extensive experience with attorneys new to the practice of law, as well as solo and small firms and the unique challenges those firms face. Because of our roots in rural America, we have seen firsthand the decrease in legal professionals in our rural jurisdictions.
